Bio:
I am really excited to begin the 2019 - 2020 year in third grade and look forward to working with you and your child.
My name is Mr. C. Engel. I have been a teacher for twelve years in both the Community Program and in the TLC Program. At an early age, my family and I moved overseas to Indonesia for our schooling at an International School. Since Pre-school to 12th grade, I was fortunate enough to explore the many cultures of our world as our friends came from all parts of the world. It was a great way to grow up and I believe experiencing things in life creates the individual, hence why I encourage others to travel and explore what our amazing world has to offer.
When students enter my classroom, they will be entering a place where learning is the main focus. From the way the topics are taught to my management style, everything will be done with the students' best interests in mind. As a teacher, it is my job to instill a love of learning in my students and to demonstrate how fun learning can be. Everything that I do in the classroom supports this love and helps the students discover their own character.
My hobbies include: BMX riding, playing bass, reading and writing, photography, enjoying the sun and water on the west coast with family and friends, spending time with my cat and other animals (I am an animal lover as my mum was a Veterinarian), and eating candy!
Grades Taught:
- Grade 2
- Grade 3
- Grade 6
Education and Awards:
- Jakarta International School (JIS)
- Mount Royal University
- University of Calgary
- Southeast Asia Photography Award (1996)
- Published educational article at UofC Education Program (2007)
- Telus Front of the Class Teaching Award (2012)
